Terms & Conditions

Deposit Requirements:

• Booking deposit required at time of booking to secure reservation
• Remaining balance due 30 days prior to arrival
• Bookings made within 30 days of arrival require full payment at time of booking

Damage Deposit:

• $2,500 damage deposit required at check in (credit card pre-authorization)
• Deposit held to cover damages, excessive cleaning, or policy violations
• Optional damage deposit buydown available at $30/day, excluding the 56' CruiseCraft
• Deposit released within 24-hours after inspection

• 91+ days before arrival: Full refund
• 90-31 days before arrival: Forfeiture of Booking Deposit
• 30 days or less before arrival: No refund

• Houseboats must be moored by 5pm
• No operation in severe weather conditions
• Boats must remain within designated operating area (maps provided)
• Swimming from the boat only when anchored or moored
• No smoking inside the houseboats
• No processing fish inside the houseboat, no fish storage in fridge/freezer/cooler

The renter is responsible for:

• Any damage to the boat, equipment, or furnishings beyond normal wear
• Lost or damaged equipment, including propellers (charges based on replacement cost)
• Excessive cleaning if boat is returned in unreasonable condition
• Any fines or penalties incurred during the rental period
• Costs associated with boat recovery if grounded, abandoned or stranded due to negligence

Check-In:

• Friday & Monday: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
• Tuesday & Saturday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Orientation and training typically takes 1-2 hours
• All Captains must be present for safety briefing

Check-Out:

• All rentals: Return by 12:00 PM (noon)
• Boat will be refueled upon return
• Holding tanks will be pumped out
• Boat should be reasonably clean
• All rental equipment must be accounted for

• Pets are welcome with prior approval and additional fee
• Maximum 2 pets per rental
• Pets must be crated when left unattended in the boat
• Owners responsible for any pet-related damage or excessive cleaning
• Pets must be under control at all times
• Please bring supplies for pet waste disposal

For everyone's safety, the following rules must be observed:

• Life jackets provided must be used for emergency only
• No swimming in marina areas
• Children must be supervised at all times
• Emergency contact numbers must be kept readily available
• Fire extinguishers and safety equipment must not be tampered with
• Report any accidents or damage immediately

The following are strictly prohibited:

• Firearms or weapons of any kind
• Illegal substances
• Fireworks
• Commercial use of the vessel
• Subletting or allowing non-registered guests to operate the boat

Any disputes arising from this rental agreement shall be resolved through good faith negotiation between the parties. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be subject to mediation in accordance with Ontario law.

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

Egan Houseboats reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. The terms in effect at the time of booking will apply to your rental. We will make reasonable efforts to notify customers of any significant changes.
